Rise for Their Rights 🗣

The 2025  National Children’s Month theme, “OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!”, perfectly captures the urgency of protecting children in today’s digital world. Online spaces can be both empowering and dangerous, and this theme reminds everyone that children’s safety and rights must always come first. It encourages awareness, action, and responsibility from every part of society, especially in fighting against online sexual abuse and exploitation.

The government continues to play a big role in creating programs and laws that aim to protect children. There are clear efforts to raise awareness and strengthen protection systems, but these efforts should always reach the communities that need them most. Protecting children means giving them real access to justice, education, and safe spaces where they can grow without fear. It also means ensuring that every child feels valued and respected in every environment.

As part of Generation Z, I believe that every young person has a part to play in this advocacy. We are the generation most connected to the online world, so we have the power to promote safety, kindness, and accountability. Reporting harmful content, educating peers, and supporting victims are simple yet powerful ways to help end OSAEC and CSAEM.

This year’s celebration is a strong reminder that protecting children should never be optional. Every action, whether from the government, schools, or individuals, can make a difference in a child’s life. When we stand up for their safety and rights, we create a society where every child can grow with confidence, dignity, and hope for a better future.
