𓂃⋆.˚ Stronger Storms, Stronger Us ˚.⋆𓂃

Climate change is one of the biggest problems we’re facing today, and sadly, the Philippines is feeling its impact more than most countries. We’re seeing hotter days, stronger typhoons, longer droughts, and unpredictable weather All of this is mostly caused by human activities like burning fossil fuels, cutting down forests, and not managing our waste properly. Because of this, a lot of Filipinos are at risk, especially when it comes to their health, safety, and way of living.

We’re already seeing the impact firsthand. Severe flooding during typhoons and intense heat waves are becoming more common. We’re already feeling these changes in real life. Heavy flooding during typhoons, intense heat during the summer are just some of the signs. Aside from damaging houses, stronger storms also affect farming and fishing, which are the main sources of income for many families. On top of that, rising sea levels are putting coastal communities in danger. People are being forced to leave their homes because of erosion and storm surges.

But even with all the struggle, Filipinos keep showing up for each other. Filipinos continue to show strength and unity.  After disasters, we always find ways to help out. That “we got each other’s backs” energy is still alive. At the same time, people are starting to take action, like planting trees, using renewable energy, joining clean-up drives, and learning how to prepare for disasters. These efforts might seem small but they surely make a big difference in helping our communities stay strong and ready.

At the end of the day, Filipino resilience gives us hope, but hope isn't enough if we don’t act on it. Climate change won’t wait, and neither should we. Small actions like saving energy, cutting down on plastic, or supporting eco-friendly policies, actually matter. We’re all part of the problem, but that also means we can be part of the solution. If we show up and work together, we can protect what we have now and make sure future generations still have something to fight for.
